# Get Relay2Trade running

Relay2Trade runs on a VPS, on your Windows PC or on a Linux machine. Pick where. The rest is the same everywhere: you sign in MetaTrader 5 and Telegram, add your signal groups, and follow it all from the Desk on this website, on your phone too.

### On a VPS

Recommended. It stays on around the clock, with nothing to download and no computer of yours to keep awake. You set it up in the Desk, on any device, in a few minutes: the Desk shows the ways to a VPS and walks you through the one you pick.

### On your Windows PC

Windows 10 or 11, or Windows Server 2019 or newer. Download the installer, run it and sign in. The app works while that PC is on and awake.

### On a Linux machine

A VPS or a computer of your own with Debian, Ubuntu, Fedora or Arch. One command from the Desk installs everything and signs the app in.

## What you need

### A place where the app stays on

A VPS stays on around the clock. A Windows PC or a Linux machine of your own works while it is on and awake, so use one that stays on while your groups post.

### A MetaTrader 5 account at your broker

The account number, the trading password and the server name your broker gave you. You do not need to install MetaTrader yourself: the app does it.

### A Telegram account

The one that is already a member of your signal groups or channels. The app reads those chats where it runs.

### A Relay2Trade licence

A licence activates the app. A new account gets a demo day to try it, with no bank card.

## On Windows, after the download: four steps

It takes about ten minutes. Do them in this order. On a VPS or on Linux, the Desk walks you through the same steps.

### Run the installer

Open the file you downloaded (Relay2Trade-Setup). If Windows asks whether to allow it, choose Yes. When it finishes, Relay2Trade opens by itself.

### Sign in

The first time it opens, the app sends you to relay2trade.com in your browser: confirm there (one click if you are already signed in) and the app signs itself in. Or type the same email and password in the app. Your plan is picked up automatically; there is no licence key to type.

### Connect MetaTrader 5

On the Connections page enter your broker account number, password and server. If a MetaTrader on this PC has used that account before, pick it from the list and type its password. If MetaTrader 5 is not installed yet, the app installs it for you, then opens it and sets everything up.

### Connect Telegram and add your group

Connect Telegram with "Log in with a QR code": on your phone, open Telegram → Settings → Devices → Link Desktop Device and scan it (or use your phone number and the code Telegram sends you). Then add your signal group as a listener. Start it on Watch: the app shows what it would do without placing trades. Switch to Auto when you are happy.
