# Inbox and notifications

The inbox in the Desk and in the app's window, every kind of notice and what its sign means, the buttons on notices, how reading and clearing work across your devices, how long notices are kept, notifications on your computer and phone, the emails that come with some notices, and what to do when notifications do not arrive.

## Where the inbox is

**In the Desk** (https://relay2trade.com/control): the bell at the top opens your "Inbox". It is also under Account → "Notifications" → "Inbox". The bell shows how many new things wait, and the browser tab says it too, for example "(3) …", counting new notices, signals waiting for your approval and unread replies from us.

The inbox has two lists, each with its own count:

- **"Your apps"**: what your apps tell you, from every profile on every computer: a trade placed or closed, a signal skipped or waiting for you, MetaTrader or Telegram down, a plan limit. "Nothing yet. What your apps tell you (a trade placed, MetaTrader down, a listener that stopped) shows here."
- **"Your account"**: what your account is sent: levels, badges, the season, cards, Sparks, discounts, our replies, news. "No messages yet. Levels, badges, quests and news for your account show here."

The list with something new opens first. "Show more" at the end brings older ones.

**In the app's window:** the bell in the top bar opens "Notifications". It holds both kinds in one list, newest first: the notices of every profile on that computer, including the ones the window is not showing, and your account's messages. "Mark all read" and "Clear" sit at its top. "Nothing yet. Trades, skips and problems from every profile land here."

The inbox sits beside "Needs you" on the Desk's Overview: "Needs you" shows what stops trading right now, with the button that fixes it, and the inbox keeps the record of what happened. See https://relay2trade.com/help/the-desk-and-phone-app.md.

## "Your apps": what each notice means

Each line names the profile it came from (when you have more than one) and the time. A coloured dot in the Desk, and a coloured bar in the app, says how much it matters: **red** for a problem, **amber** for a warning or something waiting for you, and **blue** in the Desk (**green** in the app) for news. Below, "blue" means that news colour.

**Trades**

- "EURUSD BUY opened · 0.20 lots": a signal was placed. Blue.
- "XAUUSD closed at take-profit · +12.40": a trade closed, with the reason (take-profit, stop-loss, stop-out, closed by the app, closed by hand) and the result. Blue in profit, amber in loss.
- "… opened with NO stop-loss: nothing limits its loss. Put a stop-loss on it in MetaTrader now." Red.
- "… could not be placed — …": the order failed, with the reason. Red.
- "… skipped — …": one of your rules stopped it, with the rule. Amber. When it can still be placed it adds "It can still be placed: open it to see how." See https://relay2trade.com/help/why-a-signal-was-skipped.md.
- "… is waiting for your approval": a signal from a listener on Manual, or one picked up after the app was away. Amber. It waits ten minutes under Signals → "Waiting for you".
- "Runner on … closed: it reached its time limit" or "… before the weekly close".
- "The group's follow-up — …": what a follow-up instruction did to a trade already open.
- "…: today's result is …, at or past the line (…). No new trades open until tomorrow.", with what the app closed or deleted at the line when you set it to. See https://relay2trade.com/help/daily-limits.md.
- "…: a message posted at … was being acted on when the app stopped, and what it did is not on record. Look at your trades in MetaTrader."

**MetaTrader**

- "MetaTrader 5 disconnected — nothing can be placed until it is back" (amber) and "MetaTrader 5 reconnected" (blue).
- "MetaTrader is open, but account … is not logged in…", with the cause when MetaTrader gives one: the broker refused the login, or the broker's server cannot be reached.
- A profile's MetaTrader logged in to another account, logged out, or given a fresh MetaTrader of its own, and a second MetaTrader turned away. Each says what to do. See https://relay2trade.com/help/connecting-metatrader.md.

**Telegram listeners**

- "…: Telegram no longer lets this account read …", "…: this account is no longer in …", "…: Telegram would not open …" and "…is already read by the listener …": a listener that receives nothing, with why. Amber.
- "… is being read again": it is back. Blue.

See https://relay2trade.com/help/connecting-telegram.md.

**Your plan**

- "Signal not processed: today's limit of 15 signals is reached." (with your own number).
- "Listener … switched off: your plan allows … running at once. Switch another off to bring it back.", "Profile … stopped trading: …" and "Settings held to your plan: …".
- "Your plan allows these again, so they are back as you had them…", "Listener … is on again: your plan allows it."

See https://relay2trade.com/help/your-limits-explained.md.

**Settings and the app**

- "Settings changed from the web were not applied — nothing from that edit was saved, because: …"
- "This profile's settings cannot be traded on, so it stays stopped until they are fixed: …"
- "This computer's clock is … behind the real time." (or ahead), with how to fix it in Windows.
- An update that could not be installed, with why; the app keeps running on its version and tries again.
- "Dry run finished for …" or "Dry run stopped for …".

## Buttons on notices

Some notices carry a way forward:

- **A plan limit**: "See plans" in the Desk, "Raise the limit" in the app. It opens "You are at your plan's limit", with the plans and extras that would raise it.
- **A skipped signal that can still be placed**: "See how to place it". It opens the signal with what stopped it, "Go to …" (the setting) and "Force placement".
- **A message in "Your account"**: tap it to open the screen it is about: the Inventory, the season, your plan, a support conversation, a listener's dry run, the Terms to accept.

## "Your account": the messages and their signs

A message about something with a picture of its own (a card, a badge, a look, a season) shows that picture. The others show a sign for their kind:

| Sign in the Desk | Message |
|---|---|
| Trophy | "Level … reached" |
| Shield with a tick | "Badge earned" |
| Flag | "Season track: tier …", "… closed — you finished #…", "… closes tomorrow" or "… closes in … days" |
| Brush | "New look unlocked" |
| Box | "An item for your inventory", "Added to your account" |
| Clock | "A card runs out soon", "Your … ended" |
| Gift | "Waiting for you: …" (rewards a subscription would hand over), "Coupon redeemed: …", "A discount is waiting for you", "Discounts for your … limit" |
| Star | "Your review is published" |
| Spark | "+… Sparks" from the invite ladder |
| Book | "New Terms from …": read and accept them before that day so your app does not pause |
| Plug | "Your app has gone quiet" |
| Key | "A computer asks to sign in", and what became of a VPS: "Your VPS is running", "Your VPS could not be started", "Your VPS was put away", "Your VPS is back" |
| Lightning bolt | "Dry run finished: …" |
| Envelope | News from us |
| Speech bubble | "Support replied", "We replied to your feedback", "An update on your ticket", "An update on your feedback", "We reviewed your signal report" |
| Bell | Announcements, and anything else |

The app's window shows its own small sign beside each one.

## Read and unread

- **New** lines are highlighted and bold. They stay highlighted while the list is open, so you can see which ones you came back for.
- **Opening a list reads it.** In the Desk, showing "Your apps" or "Your account" marks what it shows as read; anything that arrives after stays new. In the app, opening the bell marks both kinds as read.
- **Read in one place, read everywhere.** Notices read in the Desk are read in the app's bell too, and the other way round; the same goes for your account's messages and for every Desk you have open. Opening a support conversation marks its reply as read.

## Clearing and how long they are kept

- **"Clear the list"** (Desk, "Your apps") empties that list in the Desk and the bell of your running app. An app that is off keeps its own list until you clear it there.
- **"Clear"** in the app's window empties the app's list on that computer only.
- **"Your account" messages** cannot be removed. They stay with your account, and "Download my data" (Account → "Your details") includes them.
- **How long:** "Your apps" in the Desk goes back 30 days. The app's own bell keeps its latest 200 notices. The app's window shows your latest 30 account messages; the Desk shows them all, 30 at a time.

## While the Desk or the app is open

- **The Desk** says a new notice in a corner of the page, with the profile it came from; a tap opens it.
- **The app's window** shows a new notice as a pop-up in its corner, with the same buttons as in the bell, and a level, badge or tier as "Well played". A pop-up shows while the window is open; the bell keeps everything for when you come back.

To hear about things with the window closed, or on another computer or your phone, turn on notifications on that device.

## Notifications on your devices

"Notifications on this device" sends what your apps tell you and what your account is sent to that browser or phone, even with the page closed: "trades placed and closed, MetaTrader or Telegram down, signals waiting for you, our replies."

**Turn them on**, in each browser and on each phone where you want them:

1. Open the Desk in that browser. A card "Notifications on this device" on the Overview offers "Turn on"; or open the bell and use the switch at the bottom of the "Inbox"; or go to Account → "Notifications".
2. Switch on "Notifications on this device".
3. Allow notifications when the browser asks.

**What is sent:** every line of "Your apps" and every message of "Your account", except news from us, which waits in the inbox. A tap opens the Desk on the screen the notification is about.

**How they behave:**

- While a Desk page is in front of you, the page shows the notice itself and the device stays quiet.
- At most 10 notifications a minute reach your devices; past that, the rest wait quietly in the inbox.
- Up to 10 browsers and phones per account receive them; when an eleventh turns them on, the one not seen for longest stops.
- Signing out of the Desk in a browser turns them off there. Turn them on again after you sign back in.
- A browser that cannot receive them with the page closed shows them only while the Desk is open in the background: "When this page is open in the background, your browser shows what your apps tell you."

**On a phone:** install the Desk on the home screen from the browser (Android: the browser's menu, "Install app" or "Add to Home screen"; iPhone or iPad: Safari → Share → "Add to Home Screen"), open it from there and switch "Notifications on this device" on. On an iPhone or iPad this is needed for notifications: "add this page to your Home Screen first (Share, then Add to Home Screen), open it from there and switch this on." Installed, it opens in a window of its own and its notifications come from it instead of the browser. The Overview offers this as "Install the Desk as an app". Proper Android and iOS apps with the Desk inside are coming soon, with more say over what you get.

**Choosing what you get:** the switch is one per device, for everything above. To quiet one device, switch it off there, or use the browser's or phone's own notification settings for the site or the installed Desk. "Your apps" sends nothing while "Remote control" or "Sync activity" is off in the app.

## Tell me when the app goes quiet

In the Desk: Settings → "Account settings" → "Tell me when the app goes quiet". It is off until you switch it on.

"If your app stops answering for about 15 minutes (it crashed, the computer went to sleep or offline, or it was closed), you get a notice here. If it is still off a day later you get an email, and at most two more, a day apart. Only while your plan is active."

The notice is "Your app has gone quiet" in "Your account", pushed like any other. The emails are "Your Relay2Trade app has gone quiet" and "Your Relay2Trade app is still quiet". Once the app is back, the next silence starts afresh.

## Emails that come with notices

These arrive both in the inbox and by email (every email Relay2Trade sends, and when: https://relay2trade.com/help/emails-you-receive.md):

| In the inbox | By email |
|---|---|
| "Support replied" | "We answered ticket …" |
| "An update on your ticket" | "Ticket … is resolved" or "Ticket … is closed" |
| "We replied to your feedback" | "We replied to your feedback …" |
| "An update on your feedback" | "Your feedback … is resolved" or "… is closed" |
| "We reviewed your signal report" | "We reviewed your signal report", with the outcome |
| "New Terms from …" | "Our Terms change on …" |
| "… closed — you finished #…" (a top-25 place) | "… is over: you finished #…" |
| "Your app has gone quiet" | "Your Relay2Trade app has gone quiet", a day later |
| News from us (some newsletters leave a copy here) | the newsletter |

Some come by email, with no inbox message: payments and renewals ("Your plan renewed", "Your payment did not go through", "Your subscription is cancelled", "Your access has ended"), a new sign-in, and security changes. Free days added to your plan are emailed too ("… free days added"). The start of each new season is emailed to accounts with "News and offers by email" on (Account → "Your details"). Emails about your account and your payments are sent whatever that switch says. See https://relay2trade.com/help/plans-licence-billing.md.

Emails, notices and notifications all come in your account's language. See https://relay2trade.com/help/languages.md.

## If something goes wrong

- **No notifications at all on this device.** Turn on "Notifications on this device" in the Desk on that device; the switch is per browser and per phone.
- **"Notifications are blocked for this site…"** Click the icon at the left of the address bar, set Notifications to Allow, and they turn on by themselves.
- **"Your browser held the question back…"** Click the bell with a line through it in the address bar and choose Allow.
- **Nothing on an iPhone or iPad.** Add the Desk to the Home Screen from Safari, open it from there, and switch notifications on inside it.
- **"This browser cannot show notifications for a page."** Use another browser, or install the Desk on the home screen.
- **Notifications stopped after I signed in again.** Signing out of the Desk (Account → "Sign out") turned them off in that browser. Switch them on again.
- **Nothing arrives while the Desk is open.** The page in front shows them itself, in its corner and in the bell.
- **Some notices did not buzz.** More than 10 came within a minute; the rest are in the inbox.
- **The Desk's "Your apps" stays empty, or "Sync off" shows.** "Remote control" or "Sync activity" is off in the app. Turn them on under Settings → "Application" → "Remote control & sync".
- **Nothing arrives and the pill says "App offline".** A stopped app has nothing to tell. Start it, and switch on "Tell me when the app goes quiet" to hear about it next time.
- **The app's bell still shows notices I cleared in the Desk.** That app was off when you cleared them. Clear them in its window.
- **A phone shows nothing while the Desk on it works.** Check the phone's own notification settings for the browser or the installed Desk, and that battery saving or a focus mode is not holding them back.
- **An email did not arrive.** Look in the spam folder. News and the season's start need "News and offers by email" on.
