# Writing a review

Who can review Relay2Trade, where to write your review, what the form asks, how a review is read before it is published, the Reviewer badge it earns, where reviews are shown, and how to change or delete yours.

## Who can write one

Reviews come from customers who paid. An account can write one once it has, or had, a paid subscription that was not refunded, whether it still runs, was cancelled or has ended. Free days, the demo day, access passes and items from the shop do not count.

Until then the form says: "Reviews come from people who have paid for a licence and used the app. Once you have, you can write yours here.", with "Plan & billing".

One review per account. Good and bad reviews are published alike.

## Where to write it

- **In the Desk:** Account → "Write a review" (the tile reads "How is it going?"). It opens the form over the page.
- **In the Desk's Promotions:** Account → "Promotions" → "Always on" → "Write a review": "Paid for a licence? Tell others how Relay2Trade works for you, good or bad. When your review is published you get: …. The same for any rating." Press "Write your review".
- **In the app on Windows:** a week after your first subscription began, a banner asks "How is it going?": "You have been using Relay2Trade for a week now. A short review helps others decide, and you get the Reviewer badge for it." "Write a review ↗" opens the form in your browser; "Later" puts the banner away. While your licence is active, the app's Account page also has "Write a review ↗".

## Writing it

The form is "Your review", with "Write a review" above it: "Tell others what it is like to use Relay2Trade: what works for you, what does not. Good or bad, we publish it."

1. **"Your rating":** tap from one to five stars.
2. **"Your review":** write at least 20 characters and at most 2,000. The field suggests: "How do you use it, what did it change for you, what would you improve?"
3. **"Show my name as":** pick how you are named under it. The choices come from the name on your account (Account → "Your details"): your first name with the initial of your last name (for example "Maria P."), your first name alone, or "A Relay2Trade customer".
4. Press "Send review". It says: "Thank you. We will read your review and tell you when it is published."

"Send review" stays greyed until you pick a rating and write at least 20 characters. Under the form: "One review per account. We read every review before it shows and may fix spelling; we do not change what you mean. A changed review is read again before it shows."

## Before it is published

We read every review before it shows. Your review in the form carries its state:

- **"Waiting to be read"**: "We read every review before it shows. You will get a notification when yours is published."
- **"Published"**: "Your review shows on relay2trade.com."
- **"Not published"**: "We did not publish this review: it breaks our rules (for example insults, advertising or personal data). Write to support if you think this is a mistake."

When we corrected the spelling, it says "We corrected the spelling before publishing." When we answered your review, our answer shows under it as "Relay2Trade replied: …", on the site as well.

The message "Your review is published" arrives in your inbox (Account → "Notifications" → "Inbox" → "Your account") and on your devices when notifications are on.

## The thank-you

When your review is published the first time, you get the Reviewer badge, with everything it gives, the same for any rating. The form names what that is today: "As a thank-you, when your review is published you get the Reviewer badge, which gives: …. The same for any rating."

The thank-you is given once per account. Afterwards the form says "You already received your thank-you for your review: …", also if you change or delete the review and write it again. See https://relay2trade.com/help/xp-and-levels.md for badges and XP.

## Where reviews are shown

- **relay2trade.com/reviews**, "What customers say": every published review, with the average ("… out of 5 from … reviews").
- **The home page** of relay2trade.com, a few at a time, picked at random.

Each review shows the stars, the month it was published, the words and the name you chose. Under your name stands "Subscriber since …", the month and year of your first subscription, unless that payment was refunded. Signed with your name, the review also shows your look (icon, border and title), and a link to your public profile while you are listed on the public boards. Signed "A Relay2Trade customer", it shows neither.

A review is shown as written to readers of its own language. Readers of other languages see it in English, with "See original (…)" to switch to the words as written and "See translation" to switch back.

## Changing or deleting it

Open the form again (Account → "Write a review"):

- **Change it:** the form reads "Change your review", filled in with what you wrote. Change the stars, the words or the name, and press "Send changes". A changed review goes back to "Waiting to be read" and is off the site until it is read again.
- **Delete it:** press "Delete my review" and confirm "Delete your review? It disappears from the site." It says "Your review is deleted." You can write a new one later.

## If something goes wrong

- **"Reviews come from people who have paid for a licence and used the app."** Your account has not had a paid subscription yet, or its only payment was refunded. Free days and passes do not count.
- **"Send review" stays greyed.** Pick a star rating and write at least 20 characters.
- **The name you want is not offered.** The choices come from the name on your account. Change it under Account → "Your details", then open the form again.
- **Your review is not on the site.** It is "Waiting to be read", or it changed and is being read again. If it says "Not published", it broke the rules; write to us from Account → "Support" if you think that is a mistake.
- **No Reviewer badge after publishing.** It comes with the first publication only. Look under Account → "All progress" → badges, and in your inbox.
