# The Desk and the Desk on your phone

The Desk, your Relay2Trade control panel at relay2trade.com/control, in any browser: its header and live status, the Overview card by card, the other pages, tips, Help and tours, what remote control needs, and the Desk on your phone's home screen.

## What the Desk is

The Desk is at https://relay2trade.com/control. It works in any browser, with the same account as the app: your email and password, or Google. Signed out, it opens its own "Sign in" page (see https://relay2trade.com/help/signing-in.md).

"The Desk is the remote: the trading happens in the app, on your device or VPS." The Desk shows what the app does within seconds, and what you ask there reaches the app just as fast. See https://relay2trade.com/help/where-the-app-runs.md.

Everything about your account is done in the Desk, and it is always the current version, with nothing to update.

The language is one setting for the whole account (Settings → "Account settings" → "Language"). Changed anywhere, every open Desk page reloads in it and the app follows within seconds.

## The header

From left to right: the Relay2Trade mark and "Desk" (on a phone, the mark alone), the live status, your Sparks, "Support", "?" for Help, the bell for your "Inbox", and "To the website".

Under the header, on a computer, is the menu: "Overview", "Positions", "Signals", "Connections", "Settings", "Shop", "Inventory" and "Account". On a phone the same pages are icons in a bar at the bottom; the open one grows into a pill with its name.

The menu carries counts: on **Overview** how many lines "Needs you" holds (red when something is broken, amber when something only asks for your attention); on **Signals** signals waiting for your approval plus our answers about signals you reported; on **Positions** positions open now; on **Inventory** cards waiting to be used; on **Account** new replies from us in Support or Feedback. The browser tab shows how much is new.

### The live status

The pill beside the title says how current the page is. Press it, or point at it, to read what each state means.

- **"Live"** (green): "this page shows every change the moment it happens, and your app is running."
- **"App offline"** ("Offline" on a phone): "this page is connected, but none of your apps is running, so nothing new comes in and commands cannot reach it." Start the app on its computer, or start the VPS it runs on.
- **"Connecting…"** or **"Reconnecting…"**: "this page lost its live connection for a moment and is getting it back; what you see may be a little behind." It comes back by itself.
- **"Sync off"**: "your app does not tell this page what it does ("Status and activity" or remote control is off in the app). What you see stopped when it was switched off." See "Remote control: what it needs" below.

The pill covers the whole account; each profile's connections are on its card.

### The profile switcher

With more than one profile, Connections and Settings open with "Your profiles": a button per profile, with its face, its name and a dot. Press one to show that profile. The dot is green while its MetaTrader is connected, blue while the app is working on its MetaTrader, amber while MetaTrader is not connected, and grey while the app is offline or the profile is stopped by your plan. Signals and Activity have chips instead: "All" and each profile. With one profile no switcher shows.

### Sparks, Support, the bell

- **Sparks**: your balance. Press it to see where your Sparks came from and went; "+" opens the Sparks packages in the Shop. See https://relay2trade.com/help/levels-seasons-shop.md.
- **"Support"**: opens a chat with us on Telegram, the fastest way for a quick question. For your account, a payment or a signal, open a ticket under Account → "Support". See https://relay2trade.com/help/getting-support.md.
- **The bell**: your "Inbox", with a red count of what is new: "Your apps" (what your apps tell you) and "Your account" (levels, badges, quests, news and our replies). See https://relay2trade.com/help/inbox-and-notifications.md.

### Lines under the header

These show on every page while they apply:

- **New Terms**: "Our Terms change on …." Press "Read and accept", tick the box and confirm.
- **News**: "We changed some default settings." or a line saying your app was updated, with "See what changed".
- **The tip** (see "Tips" below).
- **A VPS that is not trading**, for example "Your VPS is stopped: the app on it trades nothing until it is started." with "Start it", or "You have a VPS that is not running your app…" with "Run it on the VPS".
- **On your own Windows computer**, at most once a day: an offer to put the app on a VPS, with "Run it on a VPS".

## The Overview

### Before your app runs

For a new account the Overview is a guide.

- **The welcome guide** ("Welcome to the Relay2Trade Desk") walks over the screen: your demo day or a plan, where the app runs, then MetaTrader and Telegram. "I just want to look around" puts it aside and leaves the card "You are looking around" with "Start the guide".
- **"Get Relay2Trade running"** shows where the app can run, in this order: "VPS: Quick install", "On a VPS in your own DigitalOcean account", "On a VPS or a Linux computer you already have" and "On your Windows computer"; on a Mac it recommends a VPS. See https://relay2trade.com/help/where-the-app-runs.md.
- **One next step**, when there is a single thing to do: for example "Your demo day runs until …. It includes a VPS set up for you." with "Create it now" and "Prefer your own machine? Choose another way.", or "Choose a plan to start." with "Choose a plan".
- **With a plan and no app yet**: "You have a licence, but your app is not running yet", with "Where the app runs".
- **Without a plan**, the plans stand on the Overview too.

### The steps to a running app

From your first app on, a card ticks off the set-up: "Three steps and it trades" (or "Four steps and it trades" while a plan is still missing).

1. "Your app is signed in".
2. "MetaTrader is signed in", with "Sign in to MetaTrader".
3. "Connect Telegram, then choose the chat to read" ("Connect Telegram"); once Telegram is connected, "A listener reads a chat" ("Add a listener").
4. "A plan is running", with "See plans", when needed.

"Walk me through it" starts the "Set up" tour. When every step is done the card says "All set. From here on your signals are traded for you." with "Take a look around →"; close it with ×. The step by step: https://relay2trade.com/help/getting-started.md.

### "Needs you"

Everything that stops trading or waits for you, one line each, with the button that sorts it out; with several profiles, each line names its profile.

- "Your renewal payment did not go through, so nothing is traded until it does." with "Fix the payment", or "No plan is running, so nothing is traded." with "See plans".
- "Remote control is off for your account: your app sends nothing here and takes no commands from here." or ""Status and activity" sync is off…", with "Turn it on in the app."
- "1 signal waits for your approval" with "Review".
- "Your app is offline: nothing is traded until it is running again." with "You can choose where the app runs: on a VPS it stays on around the clock.", "Computers running the app" and "Run it on a VPS".
- "Your VPS is stopped: nothing is traded until you start it again." or "Your VPS is put away: nothing is traded from it." with "See it".
- "MetaTrader is open but not logged in to your broker, so every signal is skipped." or "MetaTrader 5 is not connected, so nothing can be traded." with "Connect", followed by the reason when MetaTrader has given one, for example a refused password.
- "Telegram asks you to log in again: no group is read until then." or "Telegram is not running, so no group is read." with "Connect".
- "Not receiving: …" for listeners with a problem, with "View".
- "Trading is off for this profile: nothing is read and nothing is placed." with "Resume".
- A newer app version, with "Update now": it updates itself once no trade is open; updating now leaves your trades open in MetaTrader while the app restarts.

While the app is already working on something, such as setting MetaTrader up or installing an update, the line shows a loader and no button, and it is not counted.

### "Today, all profiles"

With more than one profile, one line adds them up: "Today, all profiles" (the day's result), "Trades", "Open now" and "Floating" (what the open trades make now; "—" while the app sends no live figures).

### "Your profiles"

One card per profile. "+ New profile" beside the title creates one: "Your app creates it and starts it beside the others, with default settings. Connect its MetaTrader and add its listeners next."

**The card's head**: the profile's face and name; "DEMO", "REAL" or "CONTEST" for its MetaTrader account; "Trading on" or "Trading off" while the app runs; or "Stopped by your plan" (press it to see what your plan allows and how to raise it). "Profile actions" holds "Edit profile" ("Name", "Colour", "Symbol"; some symbols open at a level) and, with more than one profile, "Delete the profile".

**The MetaTrader line**: the account number and broker server in green when connected and logged in; "Starting…" or "Logging in to the broker…" with a loader while under way; otherwise "not logged in", "not connected", "no terminal", "Trading is off for this profile, so MetaTrader is closed. Turn trading on and it opens.", "App offline" or "Stopped by your plan". Any line other than green is sorted in Connections; what each means: https://relay2trade.com/help/connecting-metatrader.md.

**The Telegram line**: "listening" (green), "Connecting…" (its first connection), "reconnecting", "login needed", "stopped", "App offline" or "Stopped by your plan", followed by the number of listeners. See https://relay2trade.com/help/connecting-telegram.md.

**The numbers**: "Today" (the result of the trades closed today, on your broker's day), "Trades" (today's signals that placed at least one order), "Open now" (press it for Positions), "Daily loss" and "Daily target" when you set those limits (today's net loss or profit on closed trades against your limit, red at the loss limit and green at the target; see https://relay2trade.com/help/daily-limits.md), and the MetaTrader account's "Balance", "Equity" and "Floating" (equity minus balance). The figures are live while the app runs; otherwise they are what the app last reported. A profile the app has not run yet says "Nothing from your app on this profile yet. Its status shows here once your app runs it."

**The buttons**, while the app runs:

- "Pause" asks "Stop opening new trades on this profile?" Open positions stay at your broker with their stop-loss and take-profit. "Resume" starts again.
- "Trade on this profile", on a profile stopped by your plan while your plan's profiles are all trading: you choose which profile stops in its place ("The profile that stops"), then "Switch trading". See https://relay2trade.com/help/profiles-and-accounts.md.

### "Latest"

What the app just did, in plain words, newest first. A notice repeated is shown once with how many times. "Inbox" beside the title opens the full list. Before anything happens: "Nothing yet today. What your app does shows here as it happens."

### "Listener performance"

For each profile, every listener's figures over the period you pick, from "Today" to "All time" ("Last 30 days" to start): "Signals", "Traded" and "Skipped", then under "Positions" the ones "Placed", "Won" and "Lost", and the net result. A listener that is off is greyed; one with nothing in the period says "No signals in this window".

## The other pages

- **Positions**: the trades open now, one card per signal, with the price between the stop-loss and the take-profits. "Close" asks "Close this trade?", "Close all" asks "Close every trade of this profile?", and an order "Waiting at the broker" has "Cancel". See https://relay2trade.com/help/take-profits-trailing-runners.md.
- **Signals**: every message the app read and what happened to it, with filters by outcome, "Symbol", listener and day. Signals from listeners on Manual wait at the top under "Waiting for you" with "Trade it", "Dismiss" and the minutes left (ten in all). "Activity" lists every step the app wrote. See https://relay2trade.com/help/the-signal-story.md and https://relay2trade.com/help/why-a-signal-was-skipped.md.
- **Connections**: each profile's "MetaTrader" and "Telegram" cards, and under "Listeners" the listeners, with "+ Add", "Its settings", "Dry runs" and "Remove listener". See https://relay2trade.com/help/listeners-and-modes.md.
- **Settings**: how each profile trades, section by section, with "Search settings" and "Set up with a few questions". "Account settings" holds "Language", "Appearance" ("Auto", "Light" or "Dark"), "Remote control", "Tell me when the app goes quiet", "Show tips" and, for an app on your own Windows computer, "MetaTrader link". See https://relay2trade.com/help/settings-overview.md.
- **Shop**: cards, looks and Sparks packages; the shop shows each price. See https://relay2trade.com/help/levels-seasons-shop.md.
- **Inventory**: the cards and rewards waiting for you, and what runs now. See https://relay2trade.com/help/items-and-inventory.md.
- **Account**: your level card ("All progress", the season, your look) and quests, then tiles: "Your details", "Plan & billing", "Promotions", "Invite friends", "Write a review", "Security", "Where the app runs", "Support" ("Ask us anything") and "Feedback" ("Ideas and problems"). Below them: "Notifications" (your "Inbox" and "Notifications on this device"), "What's new" (your app's version and its release notes) and "Sign out". See https://relay2trade.com/help/your-account-and-data.md, https://relay2trade.com/help/plans-licence-billing.md, https://relay2trade.com/help/promotions-and-invites.md, https://relay2trade.com/help/reviews.md, https://relay2trade.com/help/security.md and https://relay2trade.com/help/getting-support.md.

## Tips

A tip is one short line about a setting or a part of Relay2Trade, for example what "Trailing stop" set to "To the entry" does, or what dry runs are for. Some tips fit how your profile is set: a tip about "Max daily loss" shows while no daily loss limit is set.

- **Where**: first under the header, on every page, once your app has run; not inside a settings section or while you search the settings. It changes by itself every few minutes, the tips you have not seen lately first.
- **"Show me →"** takes you to the setting or screen the tip is about, or opens Help. **"Next tip"** (the arrow) shows another one.
- **× ("Hide until the next tip")** hides it for about a quarter of an hour, on every screen and after a reload. On a phone you can also swipe it away.
- **Turning tips off**: Settings → "Account settings" → "Show tips". The choice is kept in that browser, so switch it in each browser or phone you use.

The app's window has tips of its own, with its own "Show tips" (Settings → "Application" in the app, or in the Desk under Account → Security → "Computers running the app").

## Help and the guided tours

- **"?" opens Help** over any screen, where you left it. Search in your own words ("Search, e.g. “stop-loss” or “close half”"). Two guides gather the others: "Troubleshooting" and "Every setting explained".
- **"Still stuck? Ask us, we answer here and by email."** with "Ask support", which opens a new ticket.
- **Guided tours**: the "Welcome guide" (from nothing to a running app), "Set up" (MetaTrader, Telegram, a listener and what it does with signals), "A look around" (each part of the Desk) and "Progression" (levels, the season, cards, the inventory and the shop). A tour points at what to press ("Your turn") and waits; "Next", "Back", "Skip this step" and "Leave the tour" are on its card. A tour taken to the end is marked "Taken" and earns a badge: "Pathfinder", "Explorer" or "Season scholar". Take any tour again whenever you like.

## Remote control: what it needs

- **The app running**, on its computer or VPS, signed in to the same account. Most buttons need it; otherwise they say "Your app is offline: it has to be running for this." Settings changes are kept even then. A change the app has to make itself, such as removing a listener, waits for it: "Your app is offline: this is kept, and applied as soon as the app is back."
- **Remote control on in the app.** In the app's window: Settings → "Application" → "Remote control & sync", with "Remote control", "Sync activity" and "Sync settings & listeners" on (all are on to start with). The Desk shows them under Settings → "Account settings" → "Remote control": "These switches are changed in the app, on the computer it runs on." With settings sync off, Settings shows "Settings sync is off" in place of the settings.
- **An app with no window**, on Linux or on a VPS made from the Desk: "Your app runs without a window of its own, so remote control stays on: the Desk is how you manage it." Every sync switch stays on there, "Original message text (third-party content)" included.

A button that asks the app for something shows what it is doing ("Pausing…", "Closing…"), then "Done." or the app's own answer. "Your app did not answer in time: it may be closed or offline." means the app did not take it: try again once the pill says "Live".

Two-factor is optional, and acting on the app from the Desk asks for no code. Steps that touch your account's security or sign out, restart, stop, move or remove the app ask you to confirm it is you: see https://relay2trade.com/help/security.md. "Tell me when the app goes quiet" (Settings → "Account settings") tells you when your app stops answering: see https://relay2trade.com/help/inbox-and-notifications.md.

## The Desk on your phone

The Desk works in your phone's browser as it is: open https://relay2trade.com/control and sign in. You can also install it on the home screen, so it opens like an app.

### Installing it on the home screen

On a phone or tablet, once an app has signed in to your account, the Overview shows the card "Install the Desk as an app": "It opens from your desktop or home screen in a window of its own, and on a phone its notifications come from it instead of the browser."

**On Android:**

1. Open the Desk in your browser and sign in.
2. Press "Install" on the card, when the browser offers it. Otherwise the card says: "In your browser's menu, choose "Install app" or "Add to Home screen"."
3. Confirm. The Desk's icon appears on your home screen.

**On an iPhone or iPad:**

1. Open the Desk in Safari and sign in.
2. Tap Share, then "Add to Home Screen" (the card says: "On an iPhone or iPad: in Safari tap Share, then "Add to Home Screen".").
3. Tap Add, then open the Desk from its new icon.

"Not now" puts the card away for a week. Where the browser can install it, Account → "Notifications" also has "Install" beside "Notifications on this device". On a computer, Chrome and Edge offer the same from their own menu, and the Desk then opens in a window of its own.

Installed, it opens from its icon in a window of its own and stays signed in until you sign out (Account → "Sign out") or sign it out from Account → Security → "Active sessions". Its notifications come from it, also with the Desk closed; on an iPhone or iPad, notifications need the Desk installed on the Home Screen. Proper Android and iOS apps with the Desk inside are coming soon.

### Notifications on the phone

Open Account → "Notifications", switch on "Notifications on this device" and allow them when the phone asks. Each phone and browser switches them on for itself. More: https://relay2trade.com/help/inbox-and-notifications.md.

## If something goes wrong

- **The pill says "App offline".** Start the app on its computer, or start the VPS it runs on; the pill turns "Live" within seconds. On a Windows VPS the app starts only once a Windows user is signed in. More: https://relay2trade.com/help/troubleshooting.md.
- **The pill stays on "Reconnecting…".** Check the device's internet connection and reload the page.
- **"Your app did not answer in time: it may be closed or offline."** Wait for "Live" and press the button again.
- **"Sync off" or "Settings sync is off".** Turn "Remote control", "Sync activity" and "Sync settings & listeners" back on in the app, under Settings → "Application" → "Remote control & sync".
- **No install card or "Install" button on the phone.** The Desk is already installed, the card was put away with "Not now", or the browser does not offer it: use the browser's menu, or Safari's Share → "Add to Home Screen".
- **No notifications on the phone, or "This browser cannot show notifications for a page."** Turn on "Notifications on this device" on that phone, from the Desk installed on the home screen; see https://relay2trade.com/help/inbox-and-notifications.md.
- **The tips are gone.** Switch "Show tips" back on in that browser, or wait a quarter of an hour after closing one.
- **The Desk asks you to sign in again.** The session was signed out, for example with "Sign out all other devices". Sign in again; nothing is lost.
