# XP and levels

How XP is earned and paid, what boosts it, the XP each level needs, what each level gives, when level rewards are handed over, and where to follow it all in the Desk. With examples.

For the whole game in short (seasons, the shop, Sparks, friends), see https://relay2trade.com/help/levels-seasons-shop.md.

## The basics

You earn XP by using the app: days with the app connected, signals read, trades placed, quests, first steps, badges and friends who subscribe. Trading profit earns nothing, and XP never changes how a trade is placed. Your lifetime XP sets your level, from 0 to 40, which never resets. At the same time, the XP you earn while a season runs moves you on the season's track and boards. Every plan has the same game.

## Where you see it in the Desk

- **Account**: the first card is your level card. It shows your look and title, "Level N", your XP with a bar, "N XP to level N" (or "Top of the ladder"), "History", what runs on your account now, your "Streak", "Sparks" and streak shields, your badges, and the running season. "Change look" and "All progress" open from it.
- **"History"** on the level card: every XP movement, newest first, each with its source and a note ("a streak of 12 days", "14 signals read", "boosted ×2").
- **"All progress"** (Account → Progress): your level and "The ladder", your streak with "How XP is earned" and "Milestones", "Quests", your badges, and the boards.
- **Account → "Plan & billing" → "What your plan allows"**: the "XP multiplier" row, with the boosts running and the ones waiting in your Inventory.
- **Notifications**: "Level N reached", "Badge earned", "Season track: tier N" and the rest arrive in the same list as your trades.

## What earns XP

| Source (as "History" names it) | XP | Limit |
|---|---|---|
| "Connected day" | 11 on the first day of a streak, rising to 30 from day 30 on | Once a day |
| "Signals" | 1 per signal read | 50 XP a day |
| "Trades" | 5 per trade placed | 100 XP a day |
| "Quest", weekly | 150 each, four a week | Once a week each |
| "Clean sweep" | 250 for all the weekly quests in one week | Once a week |
| "Quest", daily "A signal parsed today" | 20 | Once a day |
| "Quest", season "500 signals parsed this season" | 1,000 | Once a season |
| "Quest", holiday events | Each names its XP, often with looks or cards | Once each |
| "Milestone" (first steps) | 50 to 200 each, 850 in all | Once each |
| "Badge" | 100, 250, 500 or 1,000, by rarity | Once each |
| "Referral subscribed" | 500 for each friend who subscribes through your invite | Once per friend |
| "Referral milestone" | 250 at 3 friends, 1,000 at 10, 2,500 at 25, 5,000 at 50, 10,000 at 100 | Once each |
| "Reward" | XP cards from the Inventory and XP in season prizes | As given |

The first steps: "Email verified" 50, "Signed in to the app" 50, "Telegram connected" 100, "MetaTrader 5 connected" 100, "First listener set up" 100, "First signal parsed" 50, "First trade placed" 200, "First subscription" 200.

**What counts:**

- **A connected day** is a UTC day on which the app was running and online. It counts whether or not "Remote control" and the sync switches are on: the app sends the day's counts by itself. More hours add nothing; the day is paid once.
- **A signal** is a message read as a real signal. Chat, follow-ups, messages that were not signals and dry runs never count. Signals from a listener on "Watch — record only" count like the others.
- **A trade** is a trade the app placed. Trades on a demo account count the same as on a real one.
- **Days are UTC days**, and weeks run Monday to Sunday, UTC.
- **One account, one day:** two computers or several profiles share the day and its limits.

The streak's connected-day XP grows with each day in a row: 11 on day 1, 15 on day 7, 20 on day 15 and 30 from day 30 on.

## When XP is paid

XP is paid as you earn it, usually within seconds: the connected day at the app's first check-in of the day, signals and trades as they happen, a quest the moment it is done. The app and the Desk follow by themselves. After each UTC day ends, the day is checked once more and anything missed is paid then.

Each day has one "History" line per source, which grows through the day: "Signals · 14 signals read" becomes "Signals · 20 signals read". Signal XP stops growing at 50 a day and trade XP at 100, while quests keep counting every signal and trade.

## XP boosts

XP boost cards make the XP you earn by using the app count more: connected days, signals, trades, quests and the clean sweep. Milestones, badges, friends, XP cards and corrections are never boosted.

- **"Double XP" and "Triple XP"** multiply that XP for their days. Two running together add up: ×2 and ×3 make ×5.
- **XP amplifiers** (+1, +2, +3) add to the multiplier: "+1 makes it ×2 for as long as it runs".
- **Together:** (1 + your amplifiers) × your × cards. A +1 amplifier with "Double XP" makes ×4.
- **The cap:** boosts count up to ×30 in total. Over it, the Desk says "×… running, counts as ×30", and using another card asks first.
- A boost applies to XP paid while it runs. A boost that starts at midday doubles the day's XP paid from then on, and the history line says "boosted ×2".

Boost cards come from the season track, quests, coupons and the shop. You start one with "Use now" in the Inventory. See https://relay2trade.com/help/items-and-inventory.md.

## Levels

Your level comes from your lifetime XP. Level n needs 72 × n² XP in total up to level 11, and from level 12 on 68 × (n − 11)² more on top. Someone who uses the app every day reaches level 40 in about a year.

- The level never drops on its own. A correction from support can lower your XP; your level stays.
- Your title and the colour of your frame follow your level: Iron, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum and Diamond.
- **The ladder** in the Desk (Account → Progress → "The ladder") shows every rung: the XP it needs, its title, what it adds to your plan and what it hands over.

| Level | Total XP | Title from here | Band from here | What it gives |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 0 | 0 | Recruit | Iron | Six Trader icons and the Iron border |

| 39 | 162,824 | | | |
| 40 | 172,388 | Legend | | One more profile and one more listener, for good |

Borders and icons are handed out along the way as well; the ladder shows them rung by rung.

## What a level gives

- **Plan extras, for good:** the extras in the table add to whatever plan you have, monthly, yearly or 7-day, and stay when you change plan. In the Desk they show in each limit under "What your plan allows". They add up: on Basic at level 40 you have your plan's numbers plus two profiles, two listeners and 10 signals a day.
- **Free days:** they extend a running subscription, so your next payment moves later and nothing is charged, and you get "N free days added". Without a subscription they wait for your next plan and are added right after its first period. See https://relay2trade.com/help/subscriptions-and-time.md.
- **Looks:** new titles, borders and icons go to your wardrobe. Wear them with "Change look". See https://relay2trade.com/help/looks-and-public-profile.md.

Each rung pays once, for good. Reaching level 25 in one go hands over every rung from your old level up to 25.

## Level 0 and when rewards are handed over

- **Levels start with your first subscription payment.** Until then you stay at level 0, and your XP still counts: "Levels, season track rewards, a place on the boards and season prizes start with your first paid subscription; access passes and free days don't start them. Your XP already counts, and what it has reached is handed over then."
- The moment you pay, your level catches up with all the XP you have, and every rung on the way is handed over at once.
- **Rewards need access:** "Level rewards are handed over only while your account has a subscription or an access pass running. The levels you reach wait for you, with no deadline." Account → Progress then says "Waiting to be handed over: N", the card "Waiting for you" lists them, and they are handed over as soon as a subscription or pass runs.

## Streaks and shields

Your streak counts the UTC days in a row with the app connected, and it raises the connected-day XP.

- **A shield** covers one missed day, and the streak goes on. Two or more missed days in a row start it again at 1, whatever you hold.
- **Earning shields:** one on every 7th day of a streak, until you hold your plan's number: 3 on the 7-day plan, 3 on Basic, 5 on Advanced and 10 on Pro.
- **Shield cards** (one or three shields) add on top of that number. Shields are kept until a missed day uses one.
- A shield that arrives on the day you come back after one missed day, before that UTC day ends, still covers it.

The streak also earns the Streak badges at 30, 90, 180 and 365 days. See https://relay2trade.com/help/levels-seasons-shop.md.

## Season XP and the boards

What you earn by using the app while a season runs counts twice: for your level, for good, and for the season, which starts from zero every three months.

- **Season XP:** connected days, signals, trades, quests and invites. First steps, badges, rewards (XP cards, tiers, prizes) and corrections from support count for your level only. Season XP bought in the shop moves your track only.
- **The boards** rank XP earned in the app, never profit: "This season" (season XP), "All time" (lifetime XP), "Your circle" and "Around you". Only accounts that have had a paid subscription are listed.
- To appear under a name of your choice, or to hide from the boards, open Account → "Your details" → "On the boards".

See https://relay2trade.com/help/seasons.md.

## Examples

- **An ordinary day.** On day 10 of your streak the app is connected all day, reads 12 signals and places 4 trades: 17 + 12 + 20 = 49 XP. With "Double XP" running all day: 98 XP.
- **A full day.** From streak day 30 on, with 50 or more signals and 20 or more trades: 30 + 50 + 100 = 180 XP. A week of such days with all four weekly quests adds 4 × 150 + 250 = 850 XP more.
- **A boost from midday.** You read 10 signals in the morning (10 XP) and use "Double XP" at 12:00. Ten more signals in the afternoon pay 20 XP. "Signals" for the day reads 30 XP.
- **Before the first payment.** Over a few weeks on access passes you earn 7,500 XP and stay at level 0. On the day you pay for Basic you reach level 10 at once: one more listener for good, and 3 free days added after your first paid month.
- **Close to a level.** At 6,950 XP the level card says "250 XP to level 10". A day of 17 + 12 + 20 = 49 XP and the weekly quest "Connected 5 days" (150) bring it to 51.
- **A missed day.** Streak 20, one shield held. You miss Tuesday and come back Wednesday: the shield is used and Wednesday is day 21. Missing Tuesday and Wednesday instead starts the streak again at 1 on Thursday.

## If something goes wrong

- **I have XP but I am still level 0.** Levels start with your first subscription payment. Your XP already counts, and your level catches up the moment you pay.
- **My level reward has not arrived.** Rewards are handed over while a subscription or an access pass runs. Account → Progress shows "Waiting to be handed over"; they arrive as soon as one runs.
- **I was connected all day and got little XP for the day.** A connected day is paid once, by your streak: 11 XP on day 1. Signals add up to 50 XP a day and trades up to 100.
- **My signal XP stopped at 50.** That is the daily cap. A boost doubles the capped amount, and quests still count every signal.
- **I got no XP for today.** The app has to be running and online that UTC day. Check that it is signed in and connected; XP arrives within seconds of the first check-in.
- **Signals from my dry run gave no XP.** Dry runs never count.
- **My boost changed nothing.** A boost multiplies XP paid while it runs, and only the XP you earn by using the app. Above ×30 in total, more boosts add nothing.
- **My streak started again although I had shields.** A shield covers one missed day; two or more in a row start the streak again.
- **My 7th streak day gave no shield.** You already hold your plan's number of shields. Shield cards add more on top.
- **Support corrected my XP and my level stayed.** That is expected: the level never drops on its own.
- **I am not on the board.** Check "List me on the public boards" under Account → "Your details", and that your account has had a paid subscription.
