What to look for in a Telegram-to-MetaTrader signal copier

A signal copier places real orders on your account while you are away from the screen. These are the questions to ask before you trust one, with what Relay2Trade does for each.

Key points
  • Relay2Trade is a desktop app for MetaTrader 5. Run it on your device or on a VPS, and follow it from your phone on relay2trade.com.
  • An AI reads your groups, follow-ups included. You can test a group with Watch mode and dry runs, and every skipped signal has a written reason.
  • The limits are yours: size per signal, a daily loss limit and caps on open trades. Trading carries risk, and the app gives no advice of its own.

Where does it run, and where are your logins kept?

The Dashboard on your own computer: connection status, listener results, signals, approvals and open positions. Click to see it full size

A copier needs your broker login and your Telegram login, so where it runs decides where those are kept. Relay2Trade runs where you choose: on your own device or on a VPS. Your logins are kept where the app runs. Typed in the app, your broker password goes straight to MetaTrader 5 there. With the app on your own computer, a password typed in the Desk is encrypted in your browser for that app alone: relay2trade.com only carries it, cannot read it, and deletes it once the app has it.

More detail

It runs on Windows 10 or 11, on Windows Server 2019 or newer, and on Linux (Debian, Ubuntu, Fedora, Arch) with one command. It trades your own MetaTrader 5 account, with any broker, and reads your groups with your own Telegram account, where it runs. The text of a signal message goes to our server to be read by the AI; your passwords and your Telegram session stay where the app runs.

You can follow your trades from your phone on relay2trade.com. The app keeps one outbound connection to relay2trade.com: it sends its status, signals and activity over it and takes the commands you give in the Desk, so no port on your computer is opened. Four switches under Settings → "Application" decide what is sent.

Does it read follow-ups as well as entries?

Groups write the way people write: entries as zones, targets in pips, and later "move SL to breakeven" or "close half". Relay2Trade reads each message with an AI, in any language, and, once you switch follow-ups on, applies a follow-up to the trade that signal opened.

Example

The group posts: BUY XAUUSD 2400, SL 2390, TP1 2410, TP2 2420, TP3 2430. The app opens it according to your settings.

An hour later the group replies to that message: "TP1 hit, SL to entry". With the group's exits and stop moves switched on, the stop of the trades still open moves to 2400, and the bell says the follow-up was applied to 2 positions.

A follow-up with no number in it ("SL to BE", "close it") is read while the group has a trade open or an order waiting, the only time it can act.
More detail

It understands terse calls ("long GOLD"), a single entry or an entry zone, any number of take-profits, stop-loss and targets given as a price, in pips or in percent, targets with no price (runners, "TP4: hold"), and several separate trades in one message, each sized on its own.

Results ("TP2 hit"), recaps, analysis, questions and promotions are read as not being signals, and direction is never taken from an emoji or a colour.

A follow-up can move the stop to entry, move the stop, move the target, close the trade, close part of it, or cancel the pending order. The trade is found through the channel's reply to its own signal first, then by symbol when exactly one trade matches. When it would have to guess, it changes nothing and says so. A stop is only ever tightened.

The prefilter reads messages with a number and a trading word in any of about 25 languages, or an instrument with its prices; a follow-up with no number, while a trade of that group is open. Follow-ups never count toward your daily signal limit, and edited messages are not read again.

Can you test a group before it trades?

A finished dry run: what the group posted, what the app would have done with it, and the replayed result. Click to see it full size

What counts is how a group's messages would have traded on your account, with your sizing and your limits. Relay2Trade has a Watch mode that records and places nothing, and dry runs that replay a group's latest messages (25, 50 or 100, by plan) on MetaTrader's price history.

How a dry run reads

Messages read 25 · Signals found 9 · Would trade 6 · Would skip 3 · Replayed result +148.20 USD.

Every skipped row carries its reason. Nothing is placed.

More detail

Every listener has three modes. "Watch — record only" reads everything and places nothing. "Manual — wait for my approval" holds each signal on the Dashboard for 10 minutes with "Trade it" and "Dismiss". "Auto — trade immediately" asks for a confirmation once per group.

A dry run uses the same AI reading and the same rules the app uses live, then replays each would-be trade against MetaTrader's own five-minute price history. You see which targets were hit and which stops were taken.

The replay leaves out commission and swap, so the result is a guide. Test trades count nowhere: not in your statistics, not in your daily signal limit.

Does it tell you why a trade was skipped?

A skipped signal: the message, what the app read in it, and the rule that decided. Click to see it full size

Sooner or later a signal is not traded, and a written reason tells a protective rule from a fault. Relay2Trade keeps a record of every signal: the original message, what the AI read, and the reason, which names the setting as the Settings page spells it.

What a reason looks like

"The price 2408.5 is already 0.35% from the signal's entry 2400, more than this listener's Max entry deviation (0.1%)."

"The signal has no stop-loss and Require stop-loss is on. To trade such signals, turn it off: they get the default stop for their kind of instrument, or none."

"You reached Max traded signals per day (30), so no new signals are traded until tomorrow."

More detail

The record also shows the settings the signal ran under, the orders placed, the orders not placed with a reason each, and a timeline.

When the message itself was read wrong, the "Read wrong?" button sends your correction to us, and a person reviews every one. A built-in check also refuses any entry, stop or target that is more than double or less than half the market price, so a decimal comma never becomes a real order.

What protects the account on a bad day?

An automatic copier follows a group on a bad day as faithfully as on a good one, so the limits have to work with nobody at the screen. Relay2Trade sizes each signal by your risk and stops at your daily loss limit.

More detail

Sizing is per signal. With "Risk % of equity" at 1 on a 10,000 USD account, a signal with four take-profits risks about 100 USD in all, shared across its trades.

The safety limits are "Max daily loss" (money or percent, net of wins), "Max traded signals per day", "Max open positions", "Max margin use %", "Lowest equity to trade", "Pause between signals (seconds)", "Max spread (points)", "Require stop-loss", trading days and hours, and "Max entry deviation" per listener. Only trades the app placed are counted.

Trading carries risk, and the limits you set are your responsibility.

What happens when the PC was off?

Computers sleep, connections drop, Windows restarts, and by the time the program is back the price has usually moved. Open positions keep their stop-loss and take-profit at the broker. When Relay2Trade comes back, recent messages wait for your approval and older ones are dropped unread.

Moving stops as targets fill, trailing runners, the weekend exit and "One trade" share closes are done by the app and need MetaTrader running. With the default "Split" mode every target is a real take-profit at the broker.
More detail

Recent means posted within "Max signal age (min)" (default 5, from 1 to 60). Those messages are read and wait for your approval, whatever the listener's mode. The age is measured on our server's clock, so a wrong Windows clock does not matter.

The app starts when you sign in to Windows, stays signed in through updates and restarts, reconnects Telegram by itself, reopens and repairs MetaTrader, and keeps the approval queue across a restart. For signals around the clock, run it on a Windows VPS.

How fast is it, and who answers support?

A speed figure means something when you know what was measured. Relay2Trade's median is 0.6 seconds from a message reaching the app to the order being sent, over more than 1,300 traded signals. Support is answered by people, as fast as we can.

More detail

Nearly all of the 0.6 seconds is the AI reading the message. Telegram delivering the message and your broker executing the order are outside that figure, because they depend on Telegram and on your broker.

You open a ticket from the Support page of the app and the recent app log goes with it, so the person who answers sees what happened. You can also write to support@relay2trade.com.

Where Relay2Trade fits

What it is, what it works with, and what stays your decision.

Summary

It is a desktop app. It runs on your device (Windows or Linux) or on a VPS, and you can follow your trades from your phone on relay2trade.com.

It works with MetaTrader 5, with any broker, live or demo, and it finds your broker's symbol names and suffixes by itself.

It executes the signals of the groups you choose, inside the limits you set, and gives no advice of its own: the choice of group, broker and instrument is yours, and so are the results of your settings.

It trades while the PC and the app are on. Positions that are open keep their stop-loss and take-profit at the broker in the meantime.

Your broker decides whether automated trading is allowed on the account. When it is switched off on its side, the app says so: "The broker's server has algo trading disabled for this account — contact the broker."

Which plan fits

Every plan has all the trading features. The plans differ in how much runs at once.

I follow one group on one account

  • →Plan → Basic, 19.99 € a month
  • →Listeners running at once → 2
  • →Profiles trading at once → 1
  • →Signals per day → 15 · Dry runs per month → 15

Risk-based sizing, multiple take-profits, trailing, limit entries and per-listener rules are all included.

I want to try it for a week first

  • →Plan → 7 days, 9.99 € per 7 days
  • →Listeners running at once → 1 · Signals per day → 10

It renews every 7 days until you cancel. Start with the listener on "Watch — record only" and a dry run on a demo account.

I follow more groups than Basic runs at once

  • →Plan → Advanced, 34.99 € a month
  • →Listeners running at once → 4
  • →Signals per day → 35

Each group gets its own mode and rules. More listeners can exist; the plan sets how many are switched on together.

I run three accounts, or more groups than Advanced runs at once

  • →Plan → Pro, 49.99 € a month
  • →Listeners → 6 · Profiles → 3
  • →Signals per day → 50 · Open positions → 100 per profile

The largest allowances, with 35 dry runs a month.

My group posts many signals with four targets each

  • →Multiple take-profits → Split opens one trade per target
  • →Open positions per profile → 10 on Basic, 50 on Advanced, 100 on Pro
  • →or Multiple take-profits → One trade: a share closes at each take-profit

With Split, three signals of four targets are 12 positions. "One trade" keeps each signal to one position; its earlier targets are closed by the app, so MetaTrader has to be running.

I want to test many groups before choosing

  • →Dry runs per month → 15, 25 or 35
  • →Messages per dry run → 25, 50 or 100
  • →Listener → Mode → Watch — record only

A dry run covers a group's latest 25, 50 or 100 messages, by plan. Dry runs have their own monthly allowance, separate from the daily signal limit.

I only need a little more than my plan holds

  • →Level 10 → +1 listener for good
  • →Shop → One extra listener for 30 days (600 Sparks)
  • →The first time you reach a limit → one 10% offer

Levels and cards add to the plan's limits, so one extra group does not have to mean a bigger plan.

Common pitfalls

✕"My listener is green but nothing trades."

✓A listener on "Watch — record only" records and places nothing. Set it to Manual, then to Auto once you trust the group. The change is saved by itself.

✕"The app is signed in, so why is nothing happening?"

✓MetaTrader 5 has to be open and logged in to your broker. The Dashboard shows "MT5 · not logged in to your broker" in amber when it is waiting for that.

✕"Where do I install it on my phone?"

✓Relay2Trade is a desktop app: it runs on your device or on a VPS. From your phone you use the Desk on relay2trade.com: status, signals and positions live, and you approve signals, close trades, pause trading and change settings. It installs like an app.

✕"I set 1% risk and the signal had 4 take-profits, so I risked 4%."

✓1% in all. "Risk % of equity" and "Fixed cash" size the whole signal and share it across its take-profits. Only "Fixed lots" set to "Each take-profit" gives every target the full size.

✕"The group wrote close half and nothing appeared in the app."

✓Partial closes and target moves are left to your settings by default: set "Partial closes and target moves" to "Follow them", on the profile or on that listener. The signal's story shows each follow-up and what was done with it.

✕"A signal is waiting for my approval but the listener is on Auto."

✓It was posted while the app was away, or it looks like a duplicate of one you just received. Check the price and decide within 10 minutes.

✕"My plan says 3 profiles but only one runs."

✓Plan limits count what is active at once: profiles trading, listeners switched on. Anything above the limit is switched off with a notice, and nothing is deleted.

The plans side by side

Prices are in EUR with VAT included, and every plan renews automatically until you cancel. Paid by the year, a plan costs ten months for twelve: 199.90 €, 349.90 € and 499.90 €. The 7-day plan costs 9.99 € per 7 days and has limits of its own: profiles trading at once 1, listeners running at once 1, signals per day 10, dry runs per month 10, messages per dry run 25. Signals are counted per UTC day and dry runs per UTC month.
