Items and the Inventory
Every item a Relay2Trade account can hold: cards that raise plan limits, free days, access passes and the demo day, XP cards and boosts, streak shields, discounts, perks and looks. Where each comes from, how the Inventory and "Use now" work, how items add up, how long they last, and what you see while they run.
For the overview of levels, seasons, Sparks and the shop, see Levels, seasons and the shop.
How items reach you
Everything the game hands out is an item. Each one arrives in one of two ways:
- At once. Sparks, looks, badges, the free days of a level and the permanent plan extras apply the moment you earn them. A notification says "Added to your account", with the end date when the item runs for a while.
- As a card. The card waits in your Inventory and does nothing until you press "Use now". A notification says "An item for your inventory", with "use it when it counts" or "use it by" a date.
Cards show a rarity in their colour: Common, Rare, Epic or Legendary.
The kinds of items
The names below are examples: the catalogue changes from season to season, and the Inventory and the shop always show each item's own name and what it does.
| Kind | For example | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| Extra cards for a plan limit | "One extra profile for 30 days", one extra listener for 90 days, +25 signals a day, +10 open positions, 10 extra dry runs this month | Adds to that limit | Its own days from use (often 30 or 90), or the rest of the month for dry runs |
| Amplifiers | +1, +2 or +3 for signals, dry runs or open positions | Makes the extra cards of the same limit count more | Its own days, usually 30 |
| × cards | "Double the signal quota for 7 days", for 30 days or for a season | Multiplies the whole signals-a-day limit | Its own days |
| Permanent extras | One extra profile, for good, from the invite ladder | Adds one, for good | For good |
| Free days | A number of free days | Adds days to your subscription | The days |
| Access passes | "Access pass · 10 days · Pro", from 5 to 30 days at Basic, Advanced or Pro; "Trial day · Basic" | Gives access at that plan, with no subscription needed | The days |
| XP cards | 500 to 2,000 XP | Adds XP to your level at once | Instant |
| XP boosts | "Double XP" or "Triple XP" for 3 or 7 days | Multiplies the XP you earn by using the app | Its days |
| XP amplifiers | +1, +2 or +3 for 14 or 30 days | Adds to your XP multiplier | Its days |
| Streak shields | One or three shields | Each covers one missed day of your streak | Until a missed day uses it |
| Shop discounts | A percentage off Sparks prices, for one purchase or for a number of days | Lowers shop prices | One purchase, or the days shown |
| Plan discounts | "10% off the Pro plan · use within 30 days" | Comes off a plan payment by itself | Until used, or the date shown |
| Perks | "Priority support", "Early access" | Switches the perk on | Its days, or for good |
| Sparks | An amount of Sparks | Adds to your Sparks balance | Instant |
| Looks and badges | Icons, borders, titles, badges | Yours to wear or show | For good |
Looks have their own article: Looks and your public profile. How XP and streaks work: XP and levels.
The demo day
When you confirm your email, a one-day Basic access pass ("Trial day · Basic") lands in your Inventory while that welcome offer runs. It needs no bank card. It starts by itself the moment your app signs in, so none of it is lost while you set things up, and you can also start it earlier with "Use now". While it runs it shows as "Demo day". A VPS created for you, with the app already on it, is included in the demo day; after it, the VPS is a paid extra on top of the plan you choose.
Where items come from
- The season track: XP cards, streak shields, XP boosts, extra cards, free days, Sparks and the season's looks, one tier at a time. See Seasons.
- Season prizes: the top places at the close win prizes such as access passes, extra cards, Sparks, XP and looks; the season page lists them.
- Levels: free days at the big rungs, permanent plan extras and looks.
- Quests and badges: holiday quests give XP with looks and cards; some badge ranks give an icon or a title.
- Invites: the invite ladder pays Sparks and, at ten subscribed friends, a permanent extra profile.
- The shop: extra cards, XP boosts, shields, free days, access passes and looks, bought with Sparks.
- Promotions and coupons: in the Desk, Account → "Promotions", type a code under "Redeem a coupon" and press "Redeem". What it gives lands on your account, cards in your Inventory. Each code works once per account.
- The support team: items given by hand show "Given by the team".
- Running into a plan limit: the first time ever, a discount on that limit's extras in the shop and on the plans that raise it.
Each card in the Inventory names its kind and where it came from, for example a "Plan extra" from a "Season reward", or an "Access pass" from the "Shop".
The Inventory
Open the Desk at https://relay2trade.com/control and choose the Inventory tab. The tab shows how many cards wait. From top to bottom the page shows:
- "Just applied", for a few seconds after you use a card: the card, how many you used and what it gave.
- "Inventory": every card you hold. Copies of the same card share one slot with a "×3"-style count. Slots are grouped by what they do: extra cards first (by the limit they raise), then XP boosts, XP, shields, free days, access passes, discounts and the rest. Each slot shows the card's art and rarity, its name, its kind and source, what it does when used, and "Use by" a date if it has one (in amber when two days or less are left).
- "Waiting for you", when your account has rewards waiting for a subscription: levels, season tiers or season prizes reached while no subscription or access pass was running. They have no "Use now" button. Each says "Applied when you subscribe" or "Goes to your inventory", and a season tier adds "only if you subscribe by" its date. "See the plans" opens your plan choice.
- The running list, in two groups: "Active now" and "Waiting to run" (see below).
- "Used": the cards you have used, each with what it gave and the date. Tap the heading to open it.
When nothing waits, the page says "Nothing in the inventory. Items come from the season track, the close, campaigns and the team."
Using a card
- In the Inventory, press "Use now" on the card.
- Confirm the question ("Use … now?"). Some cards first show a message of their own (below); read it and confirm.
- The card moves to the top as "Just applied" and a message says "… applied."
With several copies in one slot, "Use all …" (with your count) uses every copy after one question. It appears only on cards that have no message of their own.
Using a card is final. A card that was already used, has passed its "Use by" date or was taken back by the team can no longer be used.
Which start at once and which wait
- Start the moment you use them: extra cards, amplifiers, × cards, XP boosts and amplifiers, perks and timed shop discounts. Each runs for its own days from that moment.
- Apply instantly and are done: XP cards, streak shields and Sparks. XP cards add to your level only; they never count for the season.
- Wait their turn: access passes and free days. They run one after another: after your paid period and after the passes or free days already waiting.
- Free days with no subscription: using the card keeps the days on your account. They run right after the first period of the plan you pick, before its next payment, and an email says so.
- A one-purchase shop discount starts when you use it and is spent by your next purchase in the shop, or after the days it allows. Discount cards can also be started from the shop itself with "Use it".
- Plan discounts need no action: they come off the next payment they apply to.
Messages that ask first
- An access pass below the plan you pay for: "Your plan is Pro. These 10 days run at Basic after your paid period ends, from …: Pro features pause during them, then your Pro plan renews. Continue?"
- An XP boost when your boosts already count the most they can: "Your XP boosts already count ×30, the most they can. This card would run and add nothing until one of them ends. Use it anyway?"
How several add up
- Extra cards stack. Every card runs for its own days from the moment you use it, and every running card counts. Nothing waits for another card to end.
- Amplifiers make the extra cards of their limit count more: +1 makes each count twice, +2 three times, and amplifiers add up. They never touch the plan's own number or what levels add, so an amplifier with no extra card running adds nothing until one starts.
- × cards multiply the whole limit. Several of them add up: two "Double the signal quota" cards make ×4.
- XP boosts work the same way: (1 + your XP amplifiers) × (your ×N boosts added up). "Double XP" and "Triple XP" running together make ×5; add an XP amplifier +1 and it is ×10. Together they count up to ×30; cards past that keep running and add nothing.
- Streak shields add to your count, with no cap from cards.
- Access passes and free days queue one after another. In the running list, the arrows "Run earlier" and "Run later" change the order of the ones waiting; the one running stays where it is, and the queue ends on the same day.
- Shop discounts never add up: one discount applies per purchase, the biggest that covers the item.
Examples on the Basic plan, whose "Signals per day" is 15:
- Two "+25 signals a day" cards: 15 + 50.
- The same with a signals amplifier +1: 15 + 100.
- The same with "Double the signal quota for 7 days": (15 + 100) × 2.
- You have one extra profile with 20 days left and use another "One extra profile for 30 days": two extra profiles for 20 days, then one for the last 10 days.
Desk → Account → "Plan & billing" → "What your plan allows" shows each limit as its parts (plan, permanent bonuses, extra cards, amplifiers and × cards), each card with its end date. See Your limits explained.
How long items last
- Unused cards keep in your Inventory until used, unless they carry a "Use by" date. When less than 72 hours are left, a notification says "A card runs out soon" (or "… cards run out soon"). After the date the card leaves the Inventory.
- Used cards run for the days they name and are used up by time, whether or not you use the extra room.
- When an extra card ends, a notification says "Your … ended" with "It ran until …". Below the Pro plan it adds "See what each plan keeps running."
- When a limit drops below what you run, the app switches off what is over it and tells you, for example "Listener … switched off: your plan allows … running at once. Switch another off to bring it back." Nothing is deleted. When your limit allows them again, they come back as you had them.
The running list and its badges
What runs on your account, and what waits to run, appears in four places in the Desk:
- Account, on your level card: small icons under the XP bar, in two rows, "Active now" and "Waiting to run".
- Account → "All progress": the full list under your level bar, and a "⚡ XP boost ×…" chip while a boost runs (tap it for the multiplier, its end and the most boosts can count).
- The Inventory tab: the full list, with the "Run earlier" and "Run later" arrows on waiting passes and free days.
- "Plan & billing": each limit drawn from its parts.
The list holds your level's permanent extras first (for example one more listener, "From level 10"), then XP boosts, perks, shop discounts, extra cards, your streak shields, free days, access passes or the demo day, and plan discounts waiting for a payment.
On the icons of the Account card:
- "×2" in the top corner: that many of the same item, with the same end date.
- "5d" under the icon: whole days left; "0d" means it ends today.
- A dashed outline and a faded picture: it waits to run.
- Pointing at an icon shows its name and when it ends. A tap opens its card with "When" ("… days left", "ends today", "from" a date, "until your next purchase" or "permanent"), "Until" with the end date, and the count. Shields show how many you hold.
When nothing runs, the Inventory says "Nothing running right now."
Cards and your plan
Every card can be used on any plan, and with no plan at all:
- Extra cards, amplifiers and × cards add to whatever plan you have. Used with no plan or access pass running, their days still pass while the app cannot trade.
- Free days extend a running subscription. Without one, they wait for your first plan, as above.
- Access passes work without a subscription. Below your paid plan, they run after your paid period and ask first.
- XP boosts multiply XP whatever your plan.
The shop is stricter: it sells free days only to accounts with a running subscription ("Needs a subscription"). An access pass needs none.
When your plan ends or changes
- Extra cards and boosts keep running to their own end date. They add to your new plan's numbers after an upgrade or a downgrade.
- Free days already on your subscription keep the plan the subscription had when they were added, through an upgrade or a downgrade.
- An access pass used while a subscription renews runs after the paid period at the pass's plan, then the subscription renews as before. With a subscription that is ending, the pass starts after it ends. When a cancelled subscription is resumed, passes queued behind it move onto it as free days.
- Permanent extras, shields, Sparks and looks stay with your account.

Giving items to someone else
Sparks, cards, looks and every other item belong to the account that received them. They cannot be sold, given, lent or moved to another account. To bring a friend something, share your invite link (Desk → Account → "Invite friends"): their welcome discount and your rewards come from it. When an account is closed, its Sparks and items are lost.
If something goes wrong
- A card arrived and nothing changed. A card starts only when you press "Use now" in the Inventory.
- I used free days and my renewal date stayed the same. Without a running subscription, the days wait for your first plan. With one, the new date shows in "Plan & billing"; it can take up to an hour to appear. If it still has not moved, write to Support in the Desk (Getting support).
- My amplifier changed nothing. It makes the extra cards of its limit count more. Use an extra card for that limit and it starts working.
- Double XP and Triple XP together gave ×5. × boosts add up: ×2 and ×3 make ×5.
- My XP boost seems to add nothing. Your boosts already count the most they can (×30), or the XP was not earned by using the app: XP cards, badges and rewards are never boosted.
- A card disappeared from my Inventory. Its "Use by" date passed, or you used it: check "Used".
- "Use all" is missing. It appears only for several copies of a card with no message of its own; use those one at a time.
- The order of my waiting passes could not be saved. "That order could not be saved: the passes waiting changed. Refresh and try again."
- A listener or profile switched off after a card ended. Your limit dropped back. Switch another off, use another card, or move to a plan that runs more.
- My demo day has not started. It starts when your app signs in, or when you press "Use now" in the Inventory.
