Your account and your data
Your details in the Desk: your name, the email you sign in with, news and offers by email, the copy of your data you can download, the legal pages, how new Terms are announced and accepted, the time zone of our emails, and closing your account.
Where to find it
Open the Desk at https://relay2trade.com/control, then Account → "Your details". The tile reads "Name, email, your data". The screen holds, from the top:
- your "Name", "Email" and "News and offers by email", with the newsletters you received;
- "On the boards", your name on the boards and whether you are listed;
- "Your data", with "Download my data";
- "Legal", with the Terms of Service, the Legal notice, the Privacy Policy and the Cookie Policy;
- "Delete account".
Your password, Google sign-in, two-factor and signed-in devices are under Account → "Security": see Account security. Your plan and invoices are under Account → "Plan & billing": see Plans, licence and billing.
Your name
"Name" is the name we greet you by in our emails and in the Desk. To change it:
- Type the new name in the "Name" field.
- Press "Save". The Desk says "Name saved."
"Save" stays greyed while the field is empty or unchanged.
Your name is private. Other people see your board name instead, which you set separately under "On the boards" ("Show me on the board as", up to 24 characters; left empty, you are a Trader number). See Looks and your public profile.
When you write a review, the names you can sign it with come from this name: your first name with the initial of your last name, your first name alone, or "A Relay2Trade customer". See Writing a review.
Your email address
"Email" shows the address you sign in with: "The address you sign in with. To change it, write to us in Support."
To change it, open Account → "Support" and open a ticket from your account, saying which address you want instead. See Getting support.
Every email about your account, your plan and your security goes to this address. See Emails you receive.
News and offers by email
"News and offers by email" is one switch: "New features, tips and offers, a few times a month at most. Emails about your account and your payments are sent either way."
- On: you receive our product news, the start of each new season, and offers handed to your account by a promotion. The Desk says "You are subscribed to product news and offers."
- Off: none of those come. The Desk says "You have been unsubscribed from product news and offers."
- At sign-up the box "Send me occasional product news and offers by email." sets it the first time. It is off unless you tick it.
Under it, a second switch: "Let us see whether you open these emails and which links you click, so we can make them better. Off unless you turn it on; it changes nothing about what you receive." It works only while the news are on.
"Newsletters you received" lists every newsletter sent to your account, newest first, with its date; each opens as it went out.
- From an email: our product news and offer emails end with "Unsubscribe — no more emails". One press switches it off, with no sign-in. Your email program's own unsubscribe button does the same. Switch it back on in the Desk whenever you like.
Emails about your account, your plan, your payments, your security, your support conversations and your app always come, whatever this switch says.
Your data
"Your data": "What is kept about your account, as files you can open: your details and consents, your profiles and settings, your plan and payments, your progress and inventory, the notices and emails sent to you, and your conversations with support."
Press "Download my data". Your browser saves a ZIP file at once; nothing is emailed. Inside are a short read-me and plain JSON text files, which any text editor or spreadsheet tool can open:
- your account details and account-wide settings, and which version of the Terms you accepted and when;
- your profiles, and the settings your app last synced for each, with its listeners;
- your subscriptions, licence time and plan extras, and your dry runs;
- your Sparks: the balance, every movement, the packages you bought and your shop purchases;
- your progress: level, XP, connected days, seasons, quests, badges and looks;
- your inventory: every card and item, used or not, and what you wear;
- your invites: your code, who invited you, and the friends who joined through you;
- the notices in your inbox, the product news sent to you, and a list of every email we sent you (which one, its subject and when);
- what each profile last reported: the app's version, the MetaTrader account and the listeners;
- your support tickets, feedback and signal reports, with their messages;
- your sign-ins, signed-in sessions and the actions taken from the Desk;
- your latest 5,000 signals and the latest 5,000 lines of what the app did with them.
Your password, your two-factor secret and your app's sign-in key are never included: they prove who you are, and a copy of them on your computer would only be a risk to you.
You can download the file up to five times an hour.
Legal pages
"Legal" lists "Terms of Service", "Legal notice", "Privacy Policy" and "Cookie Policy". Each opens over the screen, in your account's language. The same pages are on the website, at relay2trade.com/terms, /legal, /privacy and /cookies.
The translations are there for easier reading: "If the versions differ, the Romanian version prevails." See Languages.
When the Terms change
New Terms are announced ahead of the day they apply, at least 7 days ahead. Until that day nothing changes and your app keeps running.
How you hear of it. If your account has a plan or free time running and you accepted an earlier version, you get:
- the email "Our Terms change on …", with what is new;
- the message "New Terms from …" in the inbox (Account → "Notifications" → "Inbox" → "Your account");
- a line at the top of every Desk page: "Our Terms change on …. Read and accept them before then, so your app does not pause that day.";
- in the app on Windows, the banner "New Terms apply from …": "Until then nothing changes. Accept them once, here or on the website, and the app does not pause that day."
Accepting them takes a minute, on any device:
- Press "Read and accept" in the Desk (or in the app).
- Read the text that opens ("We've updated our Terms").
- Tick "I have read and agree to the Terms of Service (including the software licence) and the Privacy Policy."
- Press "I agree — continue". The Desk says "Thanks — your acceptance has been recorded."
You accept once per account, wherever you open it first. The app picks the acceptance up within ten minutes; there is nothing to do on the computer where it runs. Before the day, "Later" closes the text, and the line stays at the top of the Desk until you accept.
If the day comes and they are not accepted, the Desk and the app open on the Terms, and the app stops reading signals until you accept them. Open positions stay at your broker with their stop-loss and take-profit, but nothing new is placed. A signal skipped for this reason reads "Terms of service not accepted — accept them in the app or at relay2trade.com". Accept them and the app carries on by itself. "Not now, log me out" signs you out of the Desk without accepting.
In the app's window the Terms screen has "I agree — continue", "Open in browser" and "Log out".
The time zone of our emails
Dates and times in our emails (a new sign-in, the day your access ends, when your app was last heard) are written in your time zone. It is taken from your browser when you create your account, and again whenever you sign in on relay2trade.com's sign-in page (relay2trade.com/login). While none is known, times are given in UTC.
The daily limits count your broker's day, not your time zone: see Daily loss limit, daily profit target and signals per day.
Your account code
Your account has a code that never changes. It is your invite code, the address of your public profile (relay2trade.com/p/ followed by the code), and the code to put in a post for the "Post about us, win a month of Pro" promotion. You find it under Account → "Invite friends" ("Your code") and on your public profile. See Promotions, coupons and inviting friends.
Closing your account
Download your data first if you want a copy: once the account is closed you can no longer sign in to fetch it.
- Open Account → "Your details" → "Delete account".
- Read what it means: "Your account is closed for good and signed out everywhere. A plan that is running ends at once, and nothing is given back for the days left. Open trades stay at your broker with their own stop-loss and take-profit."
- Press "Delete my account" and confirm it is you: "Confirm it is you. This cannot be undone."
A VPS created for you is removed with the account. A VPS in your own DigitalOcean account keeps running, and DigitalOcean keeps charging for it, until it is destroyed: the Desk offers "Destroy it first" before it lets you close the account. Invoices already issued stay archived, as the law requires. More: Account security.
To stop paying without closing the account, cancel the plan instead under Account → "Plan & billing": your settings, progress and inventory stay. See Subscriptions and time on your plan.
If something goes wrong
- "Save" does nothing beside your name. The field is empty or holds the name you already have. Type a different name.
- You want to sign in with another email address. Write to us from Account → "Support"; the address is changed for you.
- News emails keep coming after you switched them off. One already on its way may still arrive. Check that "News and offers by email" is off under Account → "Your details". Emails about your account, plan, payments and security are not news and keep coming.
- No news emails, though the switch is on. Look in the spam folder, and add our address to your contacts.
- "Download my data" opens an error page instead of a file. You downloaded it five times within the hour. Wait an hour and press it again.
- The data file will not open. It is a ZIP file: open it with your system's archive tool first. The files inside are plain text in JSON.
- Your app stopped and the Desk shows the Terms. New Terms apply from today and are not accepted yet. Accept them; the app carries on within ten minutes.
- Times in our emails are off by some hours. The time zone comes from your browser when you created the account. Sign out, then sign in once at relay2trade.com/login from a browser set to your time zone.
- "Delete my account" stays greyed. You have a VPS in your own DigitalOcean account. Press "Destroy it first", or "Keep it" to close the account and leave the VPS as it is.
