The app's window on Windows
A map of the Relay2Trade app's window on a Windows computer or VPS: the left menu and each page, the top bar, the status bar, the banners that appear above a page, Help and the guided tours, tips, the tray, and what to do when the window shows a problem.
The window and the Desk
The app does the trading: it reads your Telegram groups and places orders in MetaTrader 5 on the computer it runs on. Its window shows that computer's app, one profile at a time. The Desk at https://relay2trade.com/control shows and controls the same app from any browser or phone, every profile at once. Most of what the window does can also be done in the Desk; where you are away from the computer, use the Desk. See The Desk and the Desk on your phone.
On a VPS set up from the Desk and on Linux, the app has no window: it is managed only from the Desk. See Where the app runs.
The left menu
Under "Trading", the work of the profile you are looking at:
- "Dashboard": the status bar, "Listener performance", "Signals", "Awaiting your approval", "Open positions" and "Activity" (below).
- "Listeners": "Your listeners", one per Telegram group or channel, with "+ Add listener". Pick one and its settings open beside the list: its group and mode, its entry, its symbols and its settings of its own. See Listeners and modes and Entries, limit orders and stop orders.
- "Settings": how the profile trades, section by section, with "Search settings", "Set up with a few questions" and "Restore default settings"; "Application" (the app's own settings) is at the bottom of the list (below). See How settings work.
- "Connections": the profile's trading switch ("Stop trading" or "Start trading"), its name with "Edit", its "MetaTrader 5" account and terminal, and its Telegram connection. See Connecting MetaTrader 5 and Connecting Telegram.
Under "You", your account:
- "Progression": your level, the ladder, quests, badges, the season, the boards, your look and your XP history. See XP and levels.
- "Promotions": "Redeem a coupon", the offers waiting for you and the promotions running now. See Promotions, coupons and inviting friends.
- "Invite friends": your link and code, your friends and the invite ladder.
- "Account" ("Log in" while signed out): your sign-in, your plan and your profiles (below).
- "Support": "Help & support", with your tickets, signal reports, the guided tours, the guides and "Contact us". See Getting support.
- "Feedback": "Send us feedback" and "My feedback".
"«" at the bottom folds the menu to icons; press it again to unfold it. Under it, the app's version: click it to check for updates now. See Installing on Windows.
The top bar
From left to right:
- "Trading as": the profile the window shows, with its face and a coloured dot. Click it to switch to another profile or make a "New profile". Switching changes only what the window shows ("Now showing …"); every profile keeps running. See Profiles and MetaTrader accounts.
- The level chip, once you are signed in: your level. Its menu holds "My public profile", "Progression", "Season", "Leaderboard", "Inventory", "Promotions" and "Shop".
- The sync cloud: it moves while your settings are saved to your account; point at it to see when they last synced.
- Refresh: "Refresh your account — re-checks the licence with relay2trade.com (plan, cards, settings, level) and brings in any profile made on another computer". It says "Account refreshed." or "Brought back from your account: …".
- Help ("?", or the F1 key from anywhere): "How can we help?" Search every setting, every message the app shows, the guides and the questions people ask.
- The bell: "Notifications", with a red count of what is new, "Mark all read" and "Clear". See Inbox and notifications.
- The person icon: opens "Account".
The Dashboard
The status bar, across the top:
- "Licence", with its state: "active", "free days", "complimentary" or "past due", or why it is not active. "↻" beside it: "Just subscribed? Click to re-check your licence now instead of waiting."
- "MetaTrader 5", green while connected, or what is wrong ("MT5 · not logged in to your broker", "MT5 · waiting for terminal", "⚠ bridge outdated — restart MT5").
- "Telegram": "listening", "connecting", "reconnecting", "login required" or "stopped".
- An update, when one is ready: "update v… ready — click to update now".
- "today: … trades · P/L": your broker's day, with the signals traded today and the result of the app's trades closed today, after commission and swap.
- "daily loss" or "daily target", when you set those limits. See Daily loss limit, daily profit target and signals per day.
- The account: "Balance … · Equity …" of the MetaTrader account.
- The period on the right: "All time", "Today", "Yesterday", "Last 7 days", "Last 30 days", "Last 90 days" or "Custom…" (two dates). It sets what "Listener performance" and "Signals" count.
The panels:
- "Listener performance": one line per listener with its signals, trades and result. Click a line to show only that group's signals and activity; click it again to clear.
- "Signals": every message the app read and what happened to it, with filters by listener, outcome and symbol. Click one to open its story. See The signal story.
- "Awaiting your approval", when a signal waits for you: "Trade it" or "Dismiss", with the minutes left. See Listeners and modes.
- "Open positions": the profile's open trades, live ("prices refresh every few seconds — a small delay is normal"), each with "Close" ("Close … at market?"), and "Waiting orders" with "Cancel". "Open this signal" leads to the signal behind a trade.
- "Activity": the app's log in plain words: "Activity" or "Everything (debug)", "newest first ↓" or "oldest first ↑", 15, 30 or 50 lines a page.
The Account page
Signed out, it holds the sign-in: your email and password ("Log in"), "Sign in through the website", and "Sign in with a code from the Desk". "Create an account on relay2trade.com" opens the sign-up page. See Signing in.
Signed in, from the top:
- "Relay2Trade account", with your name and email, and a chip with your plan ("Basic", "Pro · yearly" and so on) or "No licence".
- "What runs on your account": a bar of your paid period, free days and passes, with "Next payment · …" or "Access ends …". See Subscriptions and time on your plan.
- "An offer is waiting for you." with "See them in Promotions", when one is.
- "Your plan": each limit with where it comes from. See Your limits explained.
- "Want it to trade around the clock, without this computer?" with "Run it on a VPS", which opens "Where the app runs" in the Desk.
- Buttons: "Plan & billing in the Desk", "Invite a friend" and "Write a review" open the Desk in your browser, at Account → "Plan & billing", "Invite friends" and "Write a review"; "Security" holds two-factor ("Set up two-factor" or "Turn off") and "Active sessions", which opens the Desk's Security; "Log out" signs the app out on this computer.
- "Trading profiles": a card per profile with its account, its state and its buttons ("Switch to …", "Edit", "Delete profile"), and "New profile".
The Application settings
Settings → "Application", at the bottom of the sections list: "How Relay2Trade runs on this computer. These apply to every profile."
- "Language": the language of the window and of your whole account. See Languages.
- "Launch at startup", "Start minimized in tray" and "Keep running when window closes" (see "The tray" below).
- "Show tips": the tips along the bottom of the window.
- "MetaTrader link": how the app talks to MetaTrader. Keep the named pipe unless support asks otherwise. See Connecting MetaTrader 5.
- "Log level": "How much detail goes into the app's technical log file." "info is right for everyday use. Use debug only while chasing a problem or when support asks."
- "App version", with "what's new" for the release notes.
- "Remote control & sync": "Remote control", "Sync activity", "Sync settings & listeners" and "Sync original messages", which decide what the Desk shows and can do. See The Desk and the Desk on your phone.
- "Danger zone": "Uninstall Relay2Trade". See Installing on Windows.
Each setting is saved the moment you change it. A few take effect only after a restart: the bar at the bottom then says "Saved. Restart needed for: …" with "Restart now to apply", and the window reopens in a few seconds. The same switches are in the Desk under Account → Security → "Computers running the app" → "Application" and Settings → "Account settings".
Banners above a page
These appear at the top of the window while they apply:
- "Getting started": the steps to a running app ("Log in", "Activate your subscription", "Connect MetaTrader 5", "Connect Telegram", "Add your first listener"), with the button for the next one.
- MetaTrader needs attention: for example "MetaTrader 5 is closed" ("Reopening in …s", "Open now", "Leave closed"), "MetaTrader 5 is not connected" or "Algo trading is off in MetaTrader", with "Automatic repair in …s", "Repair now" and "Not now". See Connecting MetaTrader 5.
- "Lost the connection to the app": "Reconnecting — what you see may be a moment behind until it is back." The window lost touch with the app running behind it for a moment; it comes back by itself.
- The computer's clock: "This computer's clock is … behind the real time" (or ahead), with how to set Windows to set its time automatically.
- "Relay2Trade is having an outage" or "Relay2Trade is partly degraded": "It is us, not your setup. Your app keeps running and picks up where it left off." "Service status" opens relay2trade.com/status.
- "New Terms apply from …", with "Read and accept" and "Later". See Your account and your data.
- "How is it going?", a week after your first subscription, with "Write a review ↗" and "Later". See Writing a review.
- "What's new" after an update ("Updated to v…", or "…: your settings changed"), with "See what changed" and "Dismiss".
- A VPS line, on your own computer: a VPS that is not running your app ("Run it on the VPS", "Start it", "Bring it back"), or an offer to run the app on a VPS. See Running Relay2Trade on a VPS.
"No connection to Relay2Trade" covers the whole window when the app cannot reach relay2trade.com at all: "The app works with the settings your account keeps at relay2trade.com and cannot reach them right now. Nothing new is traded until it can. Trying again…" It goes away by itself once the connection is back.
Help and the guided tours
- Help ("?" in the top bar, or F1) searches "Every setting, every message the app shows, the guides and the questions people ask". Each setting says what it does, with "Show me", which takes you to it. Help works without an internet connection for the settings and messages.
- "Guides", on the Listeners, Settings and Support pages, open the matching guide on relay2trade.com in your browser.
- The guided tours are under Support → "Guided tours": "Set up step by step" (sign in, connect MetaTrader and Telegram, answer a few questions and send yourself a test signal in a private channel of your own), "Look around the app" (what each part is) and "Progression and seasons". A finished tour earns a badge: "Pathfinder", "Explorer" or "Season scholar". Take any of them again whenever you like.
Tips
With "Show tips" on, a line along the bottom of the window shows one tip at a time. "Show me" opens what it is about, "›" shows the next one and "✕" ("Hide until the next tip") puts it away. Click the text to read all of it.
The tray
The app lives in the tray near the clock while it runs. Its menu has "Open Relay2Trade" and "Quit".
- Closing the window with ✕ leaves the app trading in the tray, while "Keep running when window closes" is on. Off, closing the window quits the app.
- Opening the app again (the desktop shortcut or the Start menu) brings the running window back.
- "Quit" stops the app, and with it all reading and trading on this computer. Open trades stay at your broker with their stop-loss and take-profit.
If something goes wrong
- The window is gone but the app should be trading. It is in the tray. Click its icon, or open the desktop shortcut.
- "Relay2Trade is already running." Look for its icon in the tray near the clock and open it from there.
- "No connection to Relay2Trade" stays. The computer cannot reach relay2trade.com: check its internet connection, and allow Relay2Trade in the firewall or antivirus. If relay2trade.com/status shows an outage, the app carries on by itself once it is over.
- The status bar shows "Licence" in red. Your plan is not active, or the app could not check it. Press "↻" after paying; see Plans, licence and billing.
- Your trades disappeared from the Dashboard. The window shows the profile in "Trading as". Switch back: the other profile kept trading.
- The Dashboard counts look wrong. Check the period on the right of the status bar, and whether a listener line is selected under "Listener performance".
- "Saved. Restart needed for: …" Press "Restart now to apply", or restart the app when it suits you.
- No tips. "Show tips" is off under Settings → "Application".
- The window shows a different language after signing in. The app took your account's language. Change it under Settings → "Application" → "Language".
